ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Annual St. John the Baptist BBQ was a huge success. I only heard complimentary comments. A big thank you to those who set up and cleaned up afterwards, to those working in the kitchen and for our BBQ crew. It was a lot of fun and the food was great!
  • Labyrinth Prayer Walk: Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. from June 25th until July 23rd and then from August 27th onward. Weather permitting.
  • Outdoor Services: Once again we will hold our 10:00 a.m. July Sunday services in the peace, beauty and tranquility of our Quiet Garden – Sunday, July 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th. Weather permitting. Always wise to bring along a bit of bug spray, a hat and sunscreen.
  • Gardens of Richmond Tour – Sunday, July 6, noon – 4 p.m. to support the Quiet Garden. Visit 12 fabulous private gardens, some of which have won garden contests, plus walk the labyrinths of the Quiet Garden. Tickets $10 at Scotiabank, Walter's ValuMart and Richmond Nursery in Richmond.   • Parish Council Meeting: Tuesday September 9th, at 7:30 PM.
  • Saturday Services: The next Saturday service is on September 6th at 5:00 PM.
  • Every Sunday, before or after the 8:30 and 10:00 service, if anyone wishes to receive the "Laying On of Hands", please notify Fr. Michel. The Ministry of Laying on of Hands will be incorporated into our Sunday service every two months. Next date is Sunday, September 7th.
  • There is a box at the back of the Church labeled Prayer Requests. If you would like our Parish Prayer team to remember in their prayers any concern or need, just write it down and put it in the box, you don't have to sign your name. If you have a request that you would like remembered on Sunday, please speak to Michel before the service.
  • Members Of Our Parish, Christine and Andrew Brydges sell free range farm fresh eggs. They can be reached at 613-838-4621
  • Aluminum Pull Tabs: A member of the day hospice collects aluminum pull tabs off canned drinks. His endeavour benefits the Children's Hospital. There is a glass jar on the back table of the church for the purpose of helping him out in his efforts.
  • PAR: You can now support your Parish through Pre-Authorized Remittance. Many people throughout the Diocese use automatic debit for their church offering. It's a convenient way to take care of your regular financial commitments, month by month to your church. Your account will be debited on or about the 20th of the month. In order to participate just fill out a form found on the back table and place it in the offering plate or phone the Treasurer, Chris Allen at 838-4409. If you are a participant of the program, take a wood carved fish as you enter the church and place it in the offering plate at the time for the offertory.
  • The Loblaws/Your Independant Grocery Cards are available, please call Fran at 838-3710 for yours, or see Kathy Dubord after the 10:00 AM service.
  • Centre 454 - Always in need of disposable razors, hotel-sized soap bars, shampoo/conditioner, skin lotion, combs, sanitary napkins and tampons, toothbrushes/toothpaste, laundry detergent .... sweaters, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, boots...Place item(s) in box "Centre 454". Thank you to those who have already so generously donated item(s).
